(quô ab Itris dividitur) protensa, Padô ad Meridiem a Gallia Togata divisa, Alpibus vero Rhaeticis et Iuliis ad Arctos a Rhaetia et Norico separata, sub se Carnos complectens: tametsi Ptolem. Venetiam a Carnis distinguat. Pars occidua inter Adduam et Athesin fluvium, Lombardia nommatur, seu sub Longobardia continerur (Longobardia enim latius patet, Insubres et alios populos continens.) Inter Athesin et Liquentiam fluvium (qui Venetos dividit a Carnis) Marca Trivisana dicitur. Reliquum, in quo Carni et Foro Iulienses sunt, usque ad Timavum Friuli, et la Patria nominatur. Populi Veneti ab Henetis populis Paphlagoniae, in asia sic dicti, et derivati, ut multi tradunt. Vide supra. Caput huius regionis olim fuit Aquileia, nunc autem Venetiae, de quibus vide insra.
